Presenting, a Graphic Novel propelling the truth of Black History through triumph and empowerment.
Overview: Mya, stressed by racial tension, unlocks a component of her DNA which enables her to live the life of her ancestors. Mya awake in 1790 as heroine, Cecile Fatima. She then embarks on a quest with the help of fellow historical hero, Dutty Boukman as she escapes slavery and rescues a Maroon Chief from her previous master, defeating her colonial foes as she progresses. Mya then wakes from her vision to empower her friends and family with the knowledge of self she has attained.
Like many others within my community, these experiences provide a pseudo-sense of self that we can’t live with. It’s too painful. So, we look to our history to see what was to conjure inspiration to change what is.
My Roots Go Deep with provide an entertaining but trustworthy explanation of our history of the West African Diaspora.
